Unpack a recording
Look inside a recording. Expand compressed data, inspect its metadata and events, and download readable JSON.
Local files are processed in this browser. Encrypted Gists need their complete sharing link. To watch a session, use Playback.
Choose a recording to inspect its contents.
Only complete, newline-terminated journal events are included. An unfinished trailing event is ignored; this does not modify or finalize the source journal.
Source files
Header, metadata, and annotations
Top-level fields, including any annotations. The event stream is shown separately below. Stored single-letter keys are expanded into descriptive names; optional values are preserved without adding defaults.
Recorded events
Each event shows its accumulated time and delay in milliseconds. Expand an event to see its labeled fields. Control characters stay escaped; no terminal commands are rendered or run.
Expanded recording JSON
The complete recording with descriptive field names and an uncompressed events array.
The JSON download is for inspection only and cannot be reopened as a recording. Pages show bounded
event groups; the download always contains the entire recording within the 64 MiB export limit.
